Community Engagement

Our goal for community engagement is to develop partnerships with school districts, higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and teacher leaders who are committed to social and educational equity through recruitment and retention of music educators of color.

We plan to do this in four areas:

  • Sustaining - Hold relevant biennial conferences and quarterly/monthly PD sessions

  • Advancing - Robust mentorship program for educators entering the field and/or teachers looking for leadership opportunities

  • Innovating - Taking the conference to middle America or hosting at an institution that is lacking diversity but seeking it.

  • Evaluating - Pre and Post conference surveys, reflection and feedback opportunities from participants, gather data from our partners to measure impact in the field.
